The client
Our client is a mental health charity that runs a helpline for people in crisis. Every search that reaches the charity’s website could be someone who needs help right now. Being easy to find on Google really matters.
The challenge
The charity’s website was competing with some of the biggest and best-known names in mental health. These sites have huge authority, and the searches involved are among the most sensitive and competitive there are. The charity knew it needed specialist help to be seen.
What we did
We started with a full audit of the website and its competitors. That showed five areas where focused work would make the biggest difference:
- Backlinks. We cleaned up the link profile and earned new links from trusted, relevant sites.
- On-page SEO. We improved the key pages so they clearly answered what people in crisis search for.
- New supporting content. We created helpful pages for the questions people ask before they reach out.
- Conversion. We made it quicker and easier for visitors to find the helpline number and call.
- Internal linking. We linked related pages together, so authority flowed to the pages that matter most.
The results
The charity now ranks number one on Google for more than 1,200 of the most sensitive and competitive searches in its field. It outranks long-established national organisations.
Organic traffic grew by 781%. Most importantly, calls to the helpline from search grew by 1,452%. That means many more people in crisis are finding support when they need it.
What’s next
The website is now a valuable resource for people who need help. We continue to work with the charity to keep it strong and visible for years to come.
